So here are the two pieces that go together. I absolutely love the black and white and enjoyed doing it. However Val was right...I hated doing the color one. But I was thinking it was just because I love doing tight detail and I'm not a fan of acrylic, unless I'm painting people.

In class we were made to decipher what was shadow versus light areas on a completely contrasting spectrum. First we practiced with paper bags and a cast shadow. Then we were told to paint ourselves with ink, portraying different expressions or moods. These were my end products.

This assignment was a shock to my system. I've never had an artistic endeavor of this magnitude or with this time constraint. I felt my heart slowing down a bit as it killed me. But by the time I was through I felt abilities improved.
